Freedom's Price - A Blueprint for the FutureIt will always be necessary for the US to invest heavily in its Armed Forces, and unfortunately those forces have to be deployed from time to time. As a result of those deployments, there will always be Chapter 31 veterans.Because of the critical shortage of aerospace engineers, it is no longer optional to keep the Nation's commitment to its veterans - we still need the ingredients that made them excellent service members. The charter of Freedom's Price is to create a disabled Veteran staffed and owned company from the majority ASAT stock donated for that purpose. It is not a productive use of the resources to end up with a company managed by Chapter 31 owners that cannot perform the primary function of the Company. The blueprint calls for owner/operators who have all walked in the same boots-all overcame service disabilities and retrained to a field critical to the National defense. These owner/operators are then fully qualified to train other Veterans in the same process. These same Veterans understand and agree that their stock will always return to the hands of Chapter 31 veterans, assuring a valued place in our society for those injured in their Service-and fulfilling the critical need for technical experts trained on the products of our defense industries. The Trustees are responsible for finding veterans with engineering potential (BS degrees) and current security clearances, and matching them up with ASAT employee/mentors. ASAT technical staff and the Trustees also match these pairs to aerospace customers willing to fund 50% of the trainee salary while the mentors perform conventional engineering services for these customers. Over a period of 12 months both the mentor and the customer contribute to the transition of the Veteran from their prior training to entry-level engineer. During that same period, the customer's workplace is infused with the understanding of purpose. These veterans bring their own purpose, the reason they joined the military-and share it with the customer employees that have never seen their product in action. This is a part of the process ASAT has coined 'Excelleration'-as the workplace excels at an increasing rate due to the addition of purpose. At the end of the 12 month training period, the customer determines if the trainee has matured to the level of entry-level engineer without the dedicated pairing with a mentor. At that point, ownership is conferred to the Veteran, along with the responsibility to pass it on.
